GED Program at Miami Dade College’s School of Community Education
The mission of the Adult Education program at Miami Dade College is to provide the English language skills, adult basic education, and GED preparation that adults need to further their education at the post-secondary level, obtain employment, play positive roles in the education of their children, and become involved community members. The program is student centered with classes designed to maximize student access through excellence in teaching, individualized student success plans, access to technology, and flexibility of locations and schedules. Adult Education is part of the School of Community Education (CE) at Miami Dade College, recognized as the largest and one of the best community colleges in the country.
Defend Jobs & defend Education protest @ Bethnal Green
Defend Jobs, Defend Education: Save Esol, Save Bethnal Green Centre. Demonstration 26th June 2009 Cuts at Tower hamlets College, Cuts at London Met. Cuts to St. Pauls Way. No ifs, no buts, no education cuts! This Saturday – March to Altab Ali Park · Stop 1000 Esol places being cut (English for Speakers of other languages). · 40 plus jobs cut at THC (Despite £6 million in the bank) · 550 London Met (Despite money in the bank for a recovery plot) · Youth workers, teachers, esol teachers, library staff affected · Cuts to Outreach provision + Bethnal Green Centre. This is a major dispute representing t massive funding cutting to further and higher education. This is the start of the break up adult education, and the privatisation of Higher Education and other public services. Please pass on reminder to all members and bring your banners. We have had a fantastic level of resistance. We have coordinated strike action for 3rd of July (84% vote for strike action). UCU and Unison have called a national day of action with colleges up and day the country protesting.
